Winter Trends from the streets of Paris

Winter Trends

Our French correspondent Pierre Caille, has just been through a very chilly winter in Paris and is now keen to see the warm weather returning to Paris’ stylish streets.

We (we we tee hee) on the other hand, are just at the beginning of the big chill! Brrrrrr. So we asked Pierre to decrypt some winter trends from the streets of Paris for us last winter…….
Already on fashion websites, in shops or in magazines, you can see that the sweaters, scarves and hats have appeared.

In Europe, the fur is back! Either natural or synthetic, it’s everywhere. If you want to look trendy this winter you will wear fur. It may be in your bomber in the way of shearling. The old biker jacket, often made of leather, is also returning and is timeless.

Because it’s winter, wool and chunky knits are always an asset and this year they are definitely CHUNKY.  For patterns, the leopard and lace are again making an appearance.

While the heels were made impossibly high in previous seasons, the wedge heels are trendy this winter. Still a heel, but easier to walk in. To be on-trend, wedge heels and fur are essential.

So there we have it. It sounds like the styles we are already seeing here in the southern hemisphere closely resemble what was in Paris in winter.  Grab your own piece of Paris winter fashion with some of our suggestions below:

SHEARLING
We love the Zoe Shearling Jacket by ALIBI, from Alibionline, and the Muska Ink Shearling Vest from Gosh Celebrity Fashion.

FUR
Get your own little taste of fur with the Guanabana Faux Fur Handbag or the Faux Fur Jacket both from A Little Left of Centre. Or the Harmony & Lawson St Moritz Natural Brown Vest from Closet Princess.

CHUNKY KNITS
Stay warm in a big chunky knit, we love the Spider Web Knitted Scarf Charcoal from About A Girl, or the One Teaspoon Heartless Knit from Birdmotel.

LEOPARD PRINT
Layer some leopard print to spice up your look this winter. Try the Leopard Print Mini dress from About A Girl, or the Shona Joy Do Not Disturb Leopard Print Cami from Fashion Artiste.

LACE
Every girl loves a bit of pretty lace. We love the Kuku La Da Lace Dress from All About Fashion, or the Sylvester Lacey Blouse from Fashion Artiste.

WEDGES
Wedges are much more comfy than your average heel, we say go for the Caro Wedge from ZU or the Charm Black Wedge from Runway Boutique.
