The horses are well and truly out of the starting gates which marks the beginning of Christmas parties and the party dresses that go with them. There’s a colourful array of pastels this season and they look wonderful with pastel accessories or a pop of colour in the same colour family. Designers such as Trelise Cooper, RachelAlex and even Supre have all launched exciting new ranges of party dresses just in time for celebrations.
To give you a taste, we have collected some of our favourite designs and paired them with gorgeous shoes from Kurt Geiger, The Mode Collective, Mary-Kyri Pallaras and Shouz. Also looking fabulous are bags from Kurt Geiger and Willow Blu plus jewellery from Adorne, The Dark Horse and our new crush Xada Jewellery. And Essie has provided matching nail polish shades to match the outfits. Perfect!

It’s always a pleasure to showcase designs from Trelise Cooper. These wonderful creations in shades of citrus, baby blue, mint & beige work beautifully as Spring Racing Carnival and party dresses by adding or subtracting a jacket or jewellery. They are versatile, highly stylish and should find a place in your wardrobe for several seasons.
Stunning! Whilst Trelise Cooper is s seasoned designer (whom I love) there are new kids on the block who are a new favourite for me – RachelAlex, who launched at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia in April 2014. Just as stunning but with a different look are the dresses designing sisters, Rachel and Alex for RachelAlex. The vibrant colours and knock-out digital print fabrics are dynamic but the designs are also different and so much fun for the wearer.
And I was even taken by the colour combinations on this simple dress from Supre. Which only goes to prove that not all party dresses need to be high priced.
The top twelve party dresses of the moment show you that the dress should be the focus. Add vibrant nails for a fun touch but keep your makeup neutral. In the warmer weather keep eyeshadow and lips colour palettes to beautiful shades of beige and pink. Amp up the mascara if you want to but leave all the colour and pattern to the dress. Depending on the neckline of the dress, hair can fall naturally in waves or try a high or low ponytail.
It’s party time so it’s all about having fun and enjoying the warm weather. If your dress doesn’t have a jacket, consider taking a wrap with you in case it does cool down after the sun goes down.
What will you be rocking this party season? Are you a dress up or dress down kind of a girl?
