It never goes out of fashion, it just keeps being up-dated by designer after designer. But you don’t always want to dress in the designer’s vision; you want to personalise. So here’s a run down on how to wear black and white this season by merging different Australian designers. Plus celebrity inspirations.
This season, designers like Kookai, Maison Scotch, , Rebecca Thompson, and Storm have all released separates that can be mixed and matched to your hearts content. With some celebrity inspired bags from Willow Blu too.
Get the Celebrity Vibe
Here you’ll find pieces you can mix to get celebrity looks – such as Rhianna’s ‘Stella McCartney’ white crop top and skirt she almost wore to the Met Gala and Diane Kruger’s classy crop top with a black leather skirt.
What I’m loving about this season’s black and white is the infinite combinations. Take some basics – leather jacket – black skinny jeans or leggings – ankle boots. Now add and mix it up. Kookai has a great range of under shirt / under sweater / wear alone basics in black, white, beige, navy, blue and red. So you can add a pop of colour, or keep with a minimal palette.
Trelise Cooper & Maison Scotch have fabulous shirts. Bless’ed Are The Meek has great sweaters, and so does Trelise Cooper & Storm. Slim cut, long line dresses or extra long t-shirts also look great over skinny jeans or leggings and under a leather jacket.
And there are soooo many options for a trans-seasonal black leather skirt – t-shirt, sweater, bomber jacket, shirt, tank…
Top Ten Leather Biker Jackets
You can wear a biker jacket with jeans, skinnies, leggings, skirt, dress, evening wear – a good leather biker style jacket is very flexible – dress it, dress it down. Kookai, Maison Scotch, and Trelise Cooper all have a great range of leather biker jackets that will take you any where, any time. Get Interior Designer Inspired
You can wear back and white together, separately, take celebrity inspiration but you can also take inspiration from how interior designers work with back and white. I’m loving the interior designer take on stripes and also adding mustard, red and baby blue – not all at the same time of course.
