Autumn is officially here ya’ll!

I must say, although I am a total summer lover, A/W fashion is so much more fun.  I just love all the layering, the different style coats and the gorgeous accessories (hello embellished leather gloves and socks!)

Finding the right coat this season is key, and the best autumn coats for curvy women.  Not only are the fabrics important but the fit and the cut as well.  The good news is there a whole ‘lotta curvalacious coats to choose from this autumn and we have the download of the best autumn coats for curvy women.  But before we begin it’s important we understand a few things that will help you in choosing the perfect coat to keep those curves warm this autumn.

The proper fit is crucial when buying your coat.  Keep in mind that when you wear your coat you will probably be stacking the layers on so leave a bit of room to be snug but not super tight.  After all, autumn is about being all cuddly and cozy right?

Another thing, if you’re a shorty (which I am!) remember, the longer the coat the shorter you look.  You don’t want to go too long you may disappear, knee length is all you!

Here are a few more tips:

Something that we really overlook when coat shopping: ‘Is the fabulous looking coat operational’ like, can you move in it?  It’s important you raise your arms, cross them in front of you and do a little dance in it (well the dance isn’t that necessary but why not, any excuse to dance is a good excuse right?!)

After the dance, be sure to button or zip it ALL the way up.  You won’t believe the amount of women who buy a coat because it looks great and then there you are on a day its freezing and you’re copping all the wind!  Once you get it on repeat last step (dance) move around and lift your arms, your coat should allow for movement and still be comfortable, oh!  AND keep you warm of course!

If the coat don’t fit, find one that does.  There is nothing worse than you buying a coat (just for the look), that’s doesn’t fit you properly.  Once you’ve got the style you want, priority number 2 should totally be: ‘How warm is this coat going to keep me?’
