When a new hair & beauty store opens, particularly one that sells its own brand, there’s always lots of excitement. But when the vision of the store comes from within our own ranks and it opens in Melbourne, then huge congratulations are in order. Welcome, now AB Pro Lab launches in Melbourne.
StyleHunter.com.au contributor, Antoinette Bekos, has worked in the hair and make-up industry for more than two decades. She has an expansive portfolio of work to her name, in the areas of film, theatre, fashion, music, print, commercials and television. In 2002, Antoinette was appointed Head of the Ten Network’s Hair and Make-Up Department, a position that she held for ten years until 2012. Antoinette has worked with international celebrities and on many special events such as the Logies, Brownlow Medal, and the Commonwealth Games coverage.
Last week, Antoinette fulfilled the dream of opening her own hair & beauty salon stocking her own makeup range that is made in New York. Welcome to A.B Pro Lab.
For years Antoinette envisaged opening her own salon so she is now so proud to welcome clients to her special space. Stocking her AB makeup brand, A.B Pro Lab also stocks Adorn (an organic and vegan range of makeup), Lash Republic Lashes, Master makeup brushes and Eleven hair products.
“For the last 20 years, I have cultivated my skills as a professional hair and make up artist. I can confidently say that I have helped women, and men, find solutions to greater personal confidence through the use of my techniques and skill,” Antoinette says.
She says it takes experience to develop the tools necessary to work with people’s individual needs. “Some clients want to simply look their best for everyday living. Others want ‘special event’ ideas and some have a desire for change because we have different needs as we mature with life.”
Antoinette combines her expertise as a professional in the media with her desire to educate. Along side her carefully selected hair and make up ranges, she has also created her own make up brand, AB.
“My advice and service is all about honesty and quality,” she says. “I encourage you to use my ‘laboratory’ to experiment and have some creative fun.”
Now open for business at 104 Chapel Street, St Kilda, Vic. Ph (03) 9537 2602
